1x tbsp carob powder (you can purchase from your local health food store)
3 tbsp of water
9x seedless dates (Prep: soak the dates in hot water until soft, then drain out the water) OR alternatively 2x heap tablespoons of 'date paste'
Directions
Step 1Combine all ingredients in a blender for 1-2minutes (until mixture is wet enough to mold into balls… if too wet just as more oats!)
Step 2Roll each ball to the size you want (using wet hands – makes it easier to roll), then lightly coat/roll each ball in oats or dessicated coconut if you prefer.
Step 3Place balls into an airtight container and place in the fridge for 30min to set.
Step 4You can also freeze these balls (which I prefer so they last longer). To defrost: take the frozen balls out of the freezer and leave on the kitchen bench for 30 minutes. Enjoy this delicious recipe!
Hi there, my name is Rachael! I am an Australian food blogger, recipe creator, fitness fanatic and a Baby Led Weaning advocate! Wife to my supportive husband, Paul, and mum of 2 kiddies Ava and Lewis who were 100% baby led weaned from 6 months old. I started this website because there was very little information out there about baby led weaning when I started. I wanted to simplify it all into one place.
I was absolutely petrified about baby led weaning especially choking, I was not sure how to cut/cook and serve foods to my babies, but now I have done it I can't emphasis enough all the positives of baby led weaning and now having fuss-free eating kids.
My website is here to give you the confidence and resources to learn more about baby led weaning. Including: healthy easy recipes for babies 6 months old+, babies readiness signs, choking hazards, foods to avoid in the first 12 months, my starter tips, research and allergies and much more... I also have an e-book which includes a 4 Week Baby Led Weaning Meal Plan with over 40+ easy healthy recipes (Paediatric Dietitian approved), and my second e-book (which will be plant-based) will be out soon 2020!
Happy weaning!

Have you tried using prunes or dried cranberries instead of dates? Could they work?
I guess I should do the exact recipe the first time and then start experimenting 😀
Prunes should work! Cranberries may also work but the flavour will be different x let us know how u go
Hi, I have dark chocolate cocoa powder snd regular cocoa powder would that work? Why did you choose to use carob?
yes it would work. Carob has no caffeine and is a healthier alternative to cocoa.
