These healthy banana-NUT pops are a healthy alternative to ice-cream or ice lollys. For baby led weaners 6mo+ a great way to introduce peanut butter into bubs diet. Do note: recent recommendations 2018 state to introduce peanut butter from 6mo+ on a regular basis to prevent potential allergies in the future. We introduced these banana-NUT pops to Ava when she was 6 months old and she still loves them now at 2 years old. Great for sore gums, teething or a great snack on a summers hot day! Do also note that peanut butter may cause allergies in some babies/toddlers if there is a family history of peanut allergy please speak with your doctor for any questions or concerns regarding your baby.

Ingredients
  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 3 tablespoons of peanut butter (no salt, no sugar)
  • 3 tablespoons of dessicated coconut
  • *no wooden sticks needed for babies 6-8months, Wooden sticks needed for babies 8mo+
Directions
  • Step 1 Cut each banana into 3 pieces. (for 6mo-8mo you can further cut the banana in half again long ways to make them smaller pieces so bub can fit into her fist – see photo above)
  • Step 2 On a plate pour out coconut and peanut butter
  • Step 3 Now roll each piece of banana into the peanut butter, then coat in coconut. For 6mo-8mo no need to use a stick, bub can simply wrap her fist around the banana-NUT pop. For 8mo+ push a wooden stick into each piece of banana 3/4 of the way, then leave aside on a small plate.
  • Step 4 Now place the plate with all the banana-NUT pops into the freezer to dry freeze (dry freezing prevents the pops from sticking when storing). After a couple of hours you can take all the pops off the plate and place them all into a container or a bag to store into the freezer for up to 6 months.
