Easy Flat Bread OR pizza base (3 ingredients)
These flat breads and pizza base recipe is SO EASY to make GET THE KIDS INVOLVED 🙂 you can make them 15min before dinner is served and they will be fresh , soft and ready. For BLWers 6mo+ and the whole family. NO YEAST, NO ADDED SALT OR SUGAR - 3 simple ingredients. Enjoy!
Ingredients
- 100 grams Self Raising Flour
- 2 tablespoons, heap of full fat greek yogurt
- 2 splashes of olive oil
- *additional: add a teaspoon of dried mixed herbs
Directions
- Step 1 In a large bowl pour in the SR flour, greek yogurt and olive oil (tip: for pizza bases I usually add dried herbs into the dough). Now combine into 4 dough balls.
- Step 2 Roll out each flat bread (or pizza base) as thin as you can on a FLOURED SURFACE (important) with a roller.
- Step 3 FOR FLAT BREAD: Prepare a large hot fry pan with olive oil, fry each flat bread, on one side until it starts to bubble (approx 30 sec), then fry the other side (approx 20 sec). They cook super quick! Watch out they don’t burn! Leave to cool a little on a wire rack. Serve warm. The flat bread is a great dippy bread, put spreads on them such as hummus, black bean paste (great iron booster!), avocado, peanut butter, unsalted butter, serve plain with with a casserole or curry.
- Step 4 FOR A PIZZA BASE: pre-heat oven at 190 degrees celcius, place rolled out base onto a lightly floured pizza tray and place into oven for 5 minutes to pre-cook. Get your toppings for the pizza base ready, take bases out of the oven and put a tomato based passata or paste onto the pizza base, then add what ever toppings you desire. Cook pizza for 15 minutes on 190.
- Step 5 Note: the dough balls freeze well, up to 3 months.

Hi, I tried to make these flatbread, the mixture was all sticky and I couldn’t roll it out,any ideas why this might of happened?
Did you flour the work bench and the flat bread and rolling pin when rolling it out?
Just wondering could you use coconut yoghurt or even a plain yoghurt? Would gluten free self raising flour work ok?
sure can!
