Blueberry + Chia Pancakes
These Blueberry + Chia Pancakes are to die for! For 6mo+ easy to hold for bub and nice and soft and tasty. Mum, dad and bub enjoyed these quick and easy pancakes for breakfast. Serve with some pre-loaded spoons of greek yogurt if you like.
Ingredients
- Recipe
- 1/2 banana
- 1xegg
- 1xtablespoon flour
- 1x tablespoon of Chia seeds
- 3/4x teaspoon of cinnamon or mixed spices
- 2x tablespoons of blueberries (either fresh or frozen)
Directions
- Step 1 In a bowl mash the banana, then combine in the egg and chia seeds – let this mixture sit for a few minutes (to allow the chia seeds to soak up the wet ingredients). Now add in the dry ingredients (flour, cinnamon) into mixture. Whisk with a fork all the ingredients to get some air bubbles into the mixture. now stir through the blueberries. With a tablespoon, spoon out the batter to make individual pancakes into a pan fry (with unsalted butter or coconut oil), wait until little bubbles start to appear on pancakes, then flip, let cook for 30sec to a minute on other side until cooked.
- Step 2 How to serve for babies 6 months old+ can either serve the pancakes into finger sized strips (see photo of baby Lewis), so baby can pick up and hold OR can serve a round small pancake size a bit bigger than the size of a babies fist.
These were a hit with my teething ten month old ??
Amazing! ???
love this recipe… my girl loves it!!
Ok maybe silly question but should the chia seeds be whole???
yes hun, they are so small not sure how they can be any smaller? ??
haha. True. For some reason I was wondering if chia seeds needed to be ground, like to a powder (like a spice). Not because of anything BLW/choking, but I had not used them in recipes before!
All good hun ?
Can I try this for my 9 month old son ?
The recipe is for 6mo+ ?
When you say combine do you mean combine with a blender? Sorry, dumb question but I never cook!
