3-ingredient 'Chicken and spinach balls'
You can either steam, pan fry, roast in the oven! We steamed them this time! They come out nice and soft and so easy to pick up! 6m+ great source of iron ?
Ingredients
- 250g Chicken mince
- 3x frozen spinach balls (once defrosted squeeze out any water) OR finely chop a handful of fresh spinach
- 1/4 cup Bread crumbs
Directions
- Step 1 Combine all ingredients together and then make bite size balls for bub and place into steamer for approx 7min until cooked (you can also put into the oven or pan fry 5-10min)
- Step 2 For younger bub’s 6-9.5mo make the balls are bigger so bub can pick them up easily and nibble the top and bottom (as young bub’s haven’t figured out yet how to open their fist).
- Step 3 For older bub’s 9.5+ that have discovered their pincer grip and can open their fist, you can make smaller balls ?

Hello, are these suitable for 7month old who can take off chunks? I have tried them myself and seems like tough meat? In terms of swallowing. Thank you in advance
suitable for 6 months old+ when baby is showing all readiness signs to start blw. they shouldn’t be tough meat. if you are concerned the chicken mince is tough, blend it finer and add into mixture. x
Is the chicken mince made using raw or precooked chicken?
